Setting up your email account in wisestep enables you to send mail(especially to candidates). You can change email preferences to make the wisestep email to work the way you wanted to. 


How to Configure?

Go to App setting > Apps and Integrations > Email Settings. Choose your email service provider.


If Google

Login to your account which you want to configure and allow access to send emails. That is it! You can start sending emails to candidates and others from the platform. 


If Outlook, Yahoo or Others

Choose your email service provider. Server Name, Connection Security and Port are filled-in automatically based on the service provider. You will have to enter them manually in case you are using custom SMTP provider. Enter your email and password, test your connection and save. You will get an email once the SMTP setup is successful. 


Are you having an issue while setting up?

For Godaddy account


- Enter your godaddy email id and password

- Server name: smtpout.secureserver.net

- Security: SSL

- Port: 465


and test connection. You should receive success notification and email to your inbox. Save the setting and proceed. 



For Yahoo account


If setting up your Yahoo personal account or office account failed with “Email and Password combination is not accepted.” make sure that you have entered the right combination. If you have given the right combination and you still see the same error, then chances are either 2-Factor is enabled or Less secure apps are restricted.

Less Secure apps

Although the name says otherwise, we follow the latest security standards to ensure that your account is secure. You might have to allow less secure apps here<https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps> to set up your email in wisestep. Outlook or Office 365

If setting up your Outlook personal account or office account failed with “Email and Password combination is not accepted.” make sure that you have entered the right combination. If you have given the right combination and you still see the same error, then chances are either 2-Factor is enabled or Less secure apps are restricted.

Less Secure apps

Although the name says otherwise, we follow the latest security standards to ensure that your account is secure. You should have got a mail from Microsoft account team about an unusual sign-in activity. Please review your recent activity here <https://account.live.com/activity>. Zoho Mail


If setting up your Zoho personal account or office account failed with “Email and Password combination is not accepted.” make sure that you have entered the right combination. If you have given the right combination and you still see the same error, then chances are either 2-Factor is enabled or Less secure apps are restricted.

For Register.com or Web.com Customers 


- Enter your register.om or web.com  email id and password

- Server name:  mail.yourdomain.com   (For Register.com

                         smtp.yourdomain.com (For web.com

- Security: TLS  or None

- Port: 587


and test connection. You should receive success notification and email to your inbox. Save the setting and proceed. 



How to add email signature?


You can add a default signature to the emails which are configured. While sending an email, the signature attached to the respective email is appended at the end of the email.
